PayPal only for nectar points

Can anyone  explain why we have to use PayPal to get nectar point vouchers?

If you use a debit or credit card at Paypal checkout,  you will accrue Nectar points for items eligible for Nectar points.

The terms and conditions state only with PayPal checkout and vouchers can
only be redeemed on a PayPal transaction

As stated here: Once you've linked your Nectar and eBay accounts, you'll automatically collect Nectar points when you purchase eligible items on eBay.co.uk and check out using PayPal, credit card, debit card, or PayPal `.

Go to your My eBay tab top of page, from drop down menu click on the Nectar logo.   There you change your Nectar points for vouchers, to use at Paypal checkout, you can use Paypal funds, debit or credit card at Paypal checkout,   they process all payments.

I use Google pay for my items and don't use PayPal

If not done through paypal, then probably won't get Nectar points.
