Offers - where are they?

My live item listing profile says 3 offers but I haven't received any. No messages. Nothing. The item is in a live auction. I can't find any information on why the item has this statistic. It may be offputting to buyers...

you've had a bid so all offers were cancelled

Also if you set a minimum price to automatically reject, although it will show offers made on listing, because it is below your price you don't get messaged.
