Nuisance Advertising Windows popping up and blocking page view

When did Charity Adverts start popping into the middle of the screen and blocking items for auction and sale? 
 

4 times now I've been surfing through for sale items and this Youth Cancer advert pops up in the middle and just sits there. 

Why?

Perhaps the MOST ANNOYING aspect is the absence of a (Close) tab or an 'X' at a corner to remove it. 
I don't dare click the Ad. 
It's actually very off-putting.

Others have been complaining, the problem started this evening.  Its appearing on listing pages and blotting out the search results

I have no idea but it's driving me mad and is not a good thing for eBay to be doing!
