I purchased a product on behalf of my mum 19th Nov 2020 as a gift for my father from her. The item was not fot for purposed and when my father plugged it in, it didnt vibrate it jerked. I reuested to return, this was accepted, however, seller wanted to give compensation and even asked if we could gift it. They eventually agreed for it to be returned to which I dis last month. Not realising until earlier today that the reuturn request was cancelled by the seller 31st Dec. He has accepted the rurn via recodred delivery. Has told me on 3 different messages that he has refunded, one being through my paypal account. I paid by debit card not hrough Paypal. Made the seller aware of this. I cannot lerave feedback to which i would issue feedback to be not so good. I cannot get Ebay involved because the seller cancelled the return request before he even received the returned product, It doesn't give me the option to get them involved.
***** All sorted.Managed to get hold of Ebay, who have refunded. Thanks for your help.******
If you opened a case for item not as described and sent the item back a seller cannot refuse the item, or close the case. If they could then no refunds for faulty not as described items would ever be made.
You forgot to escalate the case.
After entering tracking for the returned item it gave the seller 48 hours to refund you, if they did not you escalate the case and eBay step in and fully refund you, giving the seller a defect on their account too.
You left it to late and the case timed out from inactivity.
Open one with Paypal you are still in time. Enter the tracking number and do not forget to escalate after 2 days and before 20.
Doesn't matter that you paid with a debit card, it was still handled by Paypal so open a case with them. They will take longer to refund you as they look into cases more deeply than eBay do
