No reply from seller, reference an offer made on an item.

Hi all, just thought I would throw this out there and see what you think!

An item for auction/make offer. I offered a sum, it was refused. I raised my offer and had no answer. I asked seller a question via ebay and seller said he had a better offer, so fair enough. At the end of the auction the item wasnt sold and the seller put it back on Ebay.

Call me old fashioned, but surely this cant be right can it? I am commited to pay the sum I offered, it wasnt rejected, (it wasnt replied to at all)  Is the seller not subject to the same binding rules regarding commitment? Has the seller broken Ebay rules?  Hope I have made my self clear in this post. Look forward to your thoughts/reply. Thank you.

sellers don't have to accept 'offers' they aren't the same as placing a bid

offers are not binding until they are accepted

it's entirely up to the seller whether they accept an offer or not

if you want the item plac a bid
