Mistake in paypal payment

Any help please?

I sold an Item for £2,Buyer paid by Paypal but accidentally did the Collection in Person option resulting in Free P&P (should have been £1.75).

                                   So,easy think I - Issue another Invoice.Can't be done.

Oh well,I'll contact eBay by email and ask how to rectify - also can't be done!

Seems I'm only able to phone eBay.Don't know if that is free but for the sake of £1.75 don't think I'll try that.

Please then -Is it possible to contact eBay by email? Is it likely that they'll offer a realistic solution anyway?

                   What a kerfuffle!

As a note - I decided to contact Buyer to suggest he makes the Paypal payment direct to my email (a good system I've used myself to send money),lo and behold unable to send message as (a message informed me) emails addresses are not allowed in Contact messages!

Obviously I can sort this myself,as Buyer has access to my email address (having already paid) BUT that is not the point - Can I really not contact eBay by email? And if I do contact them what is liable to be their solution to what appears to be a simple problem?

Best way to contact a buyer in such circumstances is to reply to the pay pal payment as it automatically gets directed to their email address. You should also have their email address next to the user ID on the Sold details.

For years we wanted to have a phone number for eBay because it took forever to get a reply to emails and it rarely answered your query and was very inefficient. Phoning them means that you can talk to person as opposed to the automated best guess answers you used to get! With thousands of people calling eBay every day with problems both trivial and complex...email would be impossibly time consuming and is reserved for complex cases. You can usually get a call back if lines are busy...it's usually only a few minutes wait. Their UK numbers are freephone.

As to what you could do...you could refund the buyer and send them a revised invoice ...that ought to work.. Or if not..send a pay pal invoice for the correct amount and mark as paid when they settle it. It's best to discuss this with them first as they need to be ok with it....don't assume that they are! If they paid the postage separately it would cost you the non-refundable 20p fee.
