Misleading

Hi everyone

so, yet again I ordered from an apparently uk seller . My order arrived today , completely wrong item sent, and was charged more than the asking price. Only to find out I've been taxed because although their products are shipped from uk address they are from China. This is becoming a common thing. eBay say to look at profile before purchasing. I did this! However it's not until you make the payment the sellers actual country shows . Is there anything that can be done about this ? Surely it's misleading customers and if you click on uk sellers only that's exactly what it SHOULD be. I'm so sick of eBay now. I've been a loyal customer for many years. But thinking of deleting my account. As I can't trust eBay anymore.

You can only Search for an Item Location not a Country. So yes is easy to get landed with a Chinese Seller. Always check the Item Location in the Postage Section, and the Sellers Registered Address from their Feedback Profile.

The seller's actual address should be on the listing, but their feedback page is also a good indicator of where the items might come from.

It sounds like you were charged VAT, which you would have been charged if the goods were dispatched from the UK by a seller established overseas, under new rules.
