Invalid bid retraction

I have an item for sale.

23.07.21 Bidder asks what reserve is.

24.07.21 I say I am not required to answer that but the bids are getting close to it.

24.07.21 Bidder makes a higher bid at 0745

24.07.21 at 10.27 Bidder sends message "Hi No worries I just wanted to know to see if it was worth me bidding on the bike. I think the reserve is a little too high for me as I'm the winning bidder at the moment and the reserve is still there. Never mind.

25.07.21  at 0726 retracts bid as "entered wrong amount" even though this bidder was not the highest bid and was not winning.

My listing is now £250 lower as a result and surely is in breach of the rules

Invalid bid retractions can no longer be reported, BUT using a reserve is expensive as you pay the fee sold or unsold, so if you do use a reserve you might just as well put the amount in the description, as it saves bidders wasting their time.

The retracted bid was £1470 which woud havefrom the other bidsI can see woud have madeit thehighest bid, there is no winning bidder until the bidsreach tge reserve.

It would also help NOT TO USE A PRIVATE listing, there is no need as all bidders are anonymous now, and private auctions are mostly used to hide shill bidding and it puts off genuine bidders.
