I sold item to buyer on 19th February 2021. Item sold for £4.00

Buyer said she received a grey Royal Mail card yesterday with a fee to pay of £8.15.  She refuses to pay this.  Buyer says item will be returned to me.  I do not accept returns.

I sold a 10 disc Box Set DVD to customer for £4.00.  I did not tick free postage and packing.  I posted item on Sunday.  I dropped item into Post Office mail box as PO was closed on Sunday.  There was a Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed 1pm sticker on the parcel which I purchased from the Royal Mail shop and uploading the tracking number on that sticker to Ebay.

The item you sold had "free postage" so your buyer only paid you £4. So you purchased a label for way more than the total purchase price to send it to them?! Why?

Oh, you mean you sent it with a postage thing that means she has to pay!  Wow, that was very wrong - not surprised they are refusing - you deserve to have it returned - sorry.  You made an error in your listing, simple as that.

I have uploaded tracking like this before and not had items returned to me by other buyers.

where you went wrong was not to put an amount for postage in your listing. But to assume a buyer of a 4 quid item would happily stump up another 8 quid postage was ridiculous. You should have just sent it by the cheapest method available and swallowed your loss. You may want to update / change any similar live listings so that doesnt happen again.

You say "tracking" - what do you mean by that? Were you trying to get the buyer to pay for postage when they received the item?

I can't see why you are selling low value items with Freepost & sending by Special delivery, minimum cost for this is £7.55, so you are losing money

@double-o-heaven. Buyer didn’t collect item as she refused to pay the £8.15 fee. Anyway item is being returned to me. I won’t nss as make the same error again.
