Hacked

Hi, 

It looks as though someone has, somehow managed to hack my account and purchased "100 dogo coins" or something of that effect. It's some kind of crypo mining currency.

What's the best way to go about contacting someone to issue a refund and get this stopped please. I have taken the steps to ensure the account is safe, password change etc and have contacted my banking but can't speak with ebay. 

Any help would be great.

This could be very serious. It may not be a matter of casually expecting "someone to issue a refund".

If this purchase was made using your eBay account, you need to urgently read eBay's advice about getting help with a hacked account: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/account/protecting-account/get-help-hacked-account?id=4196&st=12&pos=1&q...

I presume the payment was taken from your PayPal account? This is potentially far more damaging. l presume you've already changed your PayPal password, and checked whether any other unauthorised transactions have been made? Also, check both your eBay and PayPal accounts to see whether any of your personal information has been altered.

Hey,

Thanks for the advice, I've spoken to ebay and they have logged it as fraudulent and they've protected my account, I've changed all passwords, however it didn't come off PayPal but directly from our credit card, we have spoken with the credit card company who are in the process of investigating the issue now and issuing a refund.

I've also removed all my payment methods off eBay for the time being until I get things sorted properly. I think this may well be the end of my using of eBay unfortunately, I just don't feel comfortable any more using it.

You need to contact eBay Customer Services,  asap and report your findings,  their lines open shortly,  at 8 a.m.

Menawhile change passwords on all accounts you own esepcially your email account.

Good idea to contact your bank and Paypal about this breach too.

Contact them this way.

Scroll to the very bottom of the page on the link below you will be able to access eBay Customer Services via a Live Chat and sometimes there is a Call Back available. Both options will give you an approximate waiting time, it is usually only a few minutes.

Hello, thank you for the advice and help, I have just noticed I didn't thank you so wanted to reply to you. I managed to sort things out with ebay, spoke with a very helpful guy who is now monitoring my account and has secured things his end, I have spoken with the bank and they're investigating and have stopped any funds being taken from my account. Not sure if the service is new but eBay fraud helpline is 24/7 so it was pretty easy to get in touch once I managed to find the telephone number which wasn't easy. Ha thanks again.

Did you Click on a Link in a Phishing Email?  That is usually how Accounts get Hacked. Yes Change all your Passwords, contact PayPal and your Bank.

Enter "Hacked Account" into Help and Contact at the very foot of the Page. Scroll down to the Phone Link for EBay to Call you back. Lines open at 8.00 am.

Thank you very much for your reply. I really hope they can refund this. I never click on links, I'm fairly switched on, hiwver5thats not to sag one of my children haven't, or something has slipped the net and they've caught me out. Thank you again for your reply and your advice it's really appreciated.
