I am in the process of shutting down my eBay accounts, although this one has been effectively dormant for some time, as the related business is being reduced following retirement. This will bring to an end over 18 years of being on eBay as both a buyer & seller.
The decision to finally leave has not been difficult. It has, however, been building for a while & has been brought to a head in the last few weeks. These have seen the introduction of one of the worst interfaces I have ever seen produced by a major web prescence. It's unwieldy, clunky, badly designed, not intuitive and aspects of its purported functionality just don't work. I cannot get the HTML editor on the selling page to accept even simple text fomatting code, for example. Items on the seller main page now require accessing multiple menus to get the view you want. Tailoring that view is fiddly and gives mainly unhelpful results.
Then there's the new payment system. Mandatory. That's just plain wrong.
There's also been the slow drip; eBay's fanatical insistence that the buyer is always right, despite evidence to the contrary; inability to leave appropriate feedback for any transaction; requirements to leave more and more and yet more information on even a simple, low value, listing; removing the ability to request the removal of negative feedback by eBay; the gradual and semingly inexorable increases in fees; the list goes on.
Good luck to those who choose to soldier on regardless. You are going to need it.
I am not sure why you have put your post on here.
There is nothing we can do about it and your post is not a question
Most of the things you say are correct and if we want to sell then we have to accept it
If you have decided to leave then good luck for the future
