Ebay and paypal are two different businesses
You pay ebay and paypal fees
When you sell on ebay you have 1000 free listings but upgrades like the buy it now are extras (50p )and you pay if you sell or not.
The £1 promotion applies to items listed during the promotion and is only on for a few days at a time
You have to list during that time to get the promotion
Ebay final value fees are 10% of the end price..
Paypal fees are 2.9% +30p and are taken from the money when your buyer pays by paypal
When you list an item on ebay it always tells you just before you Submit your listing how much that listing will cost
Only the insertion of the basic listing is free
when the item sells you are charged a 10% final value fee on the item price and the P&P paid
Also, if you add extras to your basic listings, such as buy it now, a reserve, a subtitle, or gallery plus you will incur fees which are payable even if the item doesn't sell. These fees are shown on the listing form, before you click 'list with displayed fees'
if you list during an 'offer' the offer is only valid for the first listing cycle, when the item auto relists the fees revert to the normal 10%
go to:-
my ebay >>> account tab >>> seller account >>> invoices
to see a break down of the ebay fees you have been charged.
The money that is taken straight away is paypals fee for processing the payment,
ebay invoice for their fees after the sale.
Your free & £1 listing offers only include the basic listing
If you add any OPTIONAL extras (listing upgrades) these fees are still charged
Free listings are auction OR Buy It Now.
Every time you list as auction AND Buy It Now you're charged a 50p listing fee which is non refundable even if the item doesn't sell. Waste of money.
