Feedback - What does this mean?

Can anybody please explain to me why some feedback comments  just shows the feedback symbol (positive, neutral or negative) followed by two dashes (--) and no other comment and the member ID s shown as just four asterisks (****).  I am seeing this quite lot and don't understand it.

it seems to be ebays latest 'glitch'

I think it might be something to do with sellers complaining about the Feedback that has been left by a Buyer. I think I have only seen it on FB left for a seller.

Also Negative FB comments have been removed by EBay who then say when questioned about this that it was an error and should not have been removed. However, they are unable to re-instate the comment!
