Fake and dangerous

I have received an email directly to my email account along with 300 other people clearly breaking eBay data protection from a seller advising us all the item purchased a Samsung charger is dangerous and to discard it immediately to receive a refund. Not only has the seller shared personal email addresses but they haven't sent a refund for the 'genuine' Samsung charger purchased. Neither sharing of data or selling fake and dangerous items are acceptable. What will eBay be doing about This?

While I could not really comment on the legality of the e-mail [which could even be a spoof/phishing] wouldn't you be happy to know?

As to what eBay will do I would guess - specifically nothing.

If the item was purchased recently then if within 30 days you can open a "not as described" case with eBay's resolution centre and escalate after 8 days for a refund. If it was more than 30 days and less than 180 days then do the same in Paypal and escalate after just 2 days.   If over that time you will need to take some form of action outside eBay.

It is one of the oddities of eBay [etc] that if the seller were to refund outside eBay then he will risk [multiple] defects and possibly a complete ban!
