Hello Ebay community, I do not understand why I am getting charged 20% of my selling fees plus postage since I was made to give up on PayPal ?
As I realise that some items which I am selling for £1 plus £3.20 postage not counting the envelop, bubble wrap and the cellar tape would yield 16 pences profit, I wonder if it is still worth selling with this platform.
Please let me know if charging me 20% was a mistake or if it is the actual new fees.
Thank you.
you are not being charged 20% where did you get that figure from?
as a private seller you are being charged 12.8 % plus 30p which is 10% final value fee and 2.8% plus 30p processing fee,
previously you will have been charged 10% final value fee to ebay and 2.9% plus 30p processing fee to paypal, so you are now paying less than before
The new fees are 12.8% of the item and postage, plus 30p. It is the fixed 30p that messes with the overall %age and makes the fees a variable %age and heftier as a total when the item and postage are low value.
Low value items are only viable in large quantities.
