I am a business seller of sporting goods. It seems under the impending EMP (eBay-managed Payments) I will be charged 10.9% selling fee plus a fixed charge of 30p per sale. Am I right in thinking that it will become economically inviable to sell low priced items eg single items at £1. For sake of argument - if my costs for a £1 item are 50p, and my gross profit is 50p out of which I have to pay 11p selling fee and 30p standing charge then the £1 item becomes not worth the bother of selling? What are the views of other business sellers please?
