Hi, does anyone know if delaying sending an item has any negative consequences for an individual seller? I've sold an item but am in the middle of moving house and unable to locate and send the item just now. The buyer is willing to pay and wait but my seller info states that I send the items within 2 days.
What is the best cause of action? Thanks so much.
All items sold on eBay are given a latest delivery date by eBay. These days it may be about 7 to 10 days. If you miss that date the buyer is asked [in feedback] "was it delivered by the predicted date". If the buyer says "no" you may get a defect on your account.
If the item goes tracked using a eBay label then ebay can see delivery and it "may" be that if theys ee late delivery they apply a defect. If you get too many defects [for whatever reason, and most sellers do not] then eBay may restrict your account. One would not hurt
You could receive Negative Feedback and a late Delivery Defect.
