• When you import items from outside the EU there is a very high probability that those goods will be subject to import charges
•
• These consist of VAT - Goods over £15
•
• Import Duty - Goods over £135
•
• Brokerage fee - Paid to the courier who pays the fees on your behalf (anywhere from £8- £20)
•
• These fees are nothing to do with the seller or eBay......they are levied on the buyer/importer by your government......
•
• Failure to pay these charges upon delivery invalidates the Money Back Guarantee......meaning the goods will be returned to the seller & you will lose them & be unable to claim from eBay or Paypal
•
•
• The exception to this is where the seller ships using eBay Global Shipping Programme
•
• In these cases the buyer pays these fees as a separate payment at the time of purchase
