Confirmation of delivery - payment on hold

Hi.  I had assumed that the fact that I had a Royal Mail tracking number for my sold items, they could be tracked - apparently not !  Given that, is there any way that I can check if the sold items have been delivered, or do I have to wait until EBay release funds from 'hold', in a month's time ?

You must make sure the trackking or 16 digit code is on the item in your sold section

You can check the tracking and it may be that ebay may release the money earlier

Hi, thanks. The 16 digit tracking code for Royal Mail is on the item in my sold section, but Royal Mail do not appear to be recognising it. Nor do they recognise any of the other tracking numbers I have recently created. EBay are blaming Royal Mail but in the meantime how do I check whether or not an item has been delivered ?

Have you checked the RM site? You could contact them and ask them to update but I dont know if they do that. Otherwise you just have to wait until ebay release the money

Yes, I've checked the RM site, they won't recognise the tracking number (which is on the address label bought from EBay through PayPal). Some research shows it seems to be a common problem which EBay are aware of - but it doesn't stop them selling postage that clearly indicates that tracking is active ! Shambles...
