Collection Code??

Can anyone help?

I have bought an item on eBay, that was delivered by a courier. I am meant to get a collection Code, which the Seller needs from me. However, it is not clear how I get the Code. I saw on my smart phone eBay app, that you could press a button called 'Get Collection Code'. But when pressed, it did not react (as if the button was not live/ not active). Later, when I went back in, the Button had gone, and the item was listed as collected (the item has been successfully delivered/ I have it).

There seems no clear way to resolve this on the Desktop version of eBay, either.

I have no idea how to get the requested code for the Seller and the Seller really wants this sorted.

The whole thing appears far too complicated!

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Many thanks in advance!

you can bypass the need for a code by using the full site, not the app

use the drop down menu next to the item and mark it as paid and dispatched

Both buyer and seller have to be using the Ebay App. Buyer receives the code and showsit to seller who scans it and that marks as collected.

This is not absolutelly necessary, sellers have been coping with collection items for many years, this new system is to help cut down on phoney claims of not received, but it could be done much simpler with buyer getting a number by Message and seller marking on his sale item as collected.

This would allow the system to be used for all collection items, as I doubt that everyone will ever be using the Ebay App. which from what I have read is not that brilliant.

It is the seller that has to mark it as Dispatched

The seller can mark as Paid and dispatched to the right of the item in their sold section under More action or under Orders on the seller hub
