Code for collections

I purchased an item.  Tried PayPal and could not get it to go through - went round in circles and ended up taking it 4 times, but eBay rejected.  I ended up paying cash and collected.  Now seller needs a code to prove that it has been collected.  Where do I get that from? I use laptop and seller uses mobile app.  Thanks.

"went round in circles and ended up taking it 4 times, but eBay rejected"

Don't understand what that means, BUT unless it was a Collection Item in the first place there is no code.

Seller just has to mark as Paid and Dispatched.

If originally a collection item, then you as buyerwoud have receved the code by Text or if using the Ebay app via a smart phone. You then supply the number or if seller using ebay app.he scans the code from your phone.

I suggest that both you and seller enter Collection Items in HELP & CONTACT and read the various options.

You both need the app for this to work.

Explain to your seller it is not mandatory to use that code,  it is a helpful tool,  but not mandatory,  as both participants have to have the app and not all people use this device.

This is what they need to do.

Go right of the item sold to More Actions, and there select Mark as Paid, and Mark as Dispatched.

Or, if  theyv are on the Seller Hub page, go to Orders>> Awaiting Postage >> Print Postage Label, click on the item, and you will see those instructions top left of the page.

A desktop browser, not a mobile browser, or an app  may be needed to manage this.
