Change payment method for active auction listing ?

I'm new to this and would be pleased to have some advice.

The auction is underway for a relatively high value item which is  listed as "Cash on collection" . My problem is that I'm getting bidders from the other end of the country.

I seem to have listed Paypal and credit/debit cards etc as "acceptable" methods of payment as well as " Cash on Collection" as "acceptable".

At  this stage in the process can I change the payment methods on my listing to "Cash on collection" only ?

What should I do if the winning bidder is not willing/able  to do cash on collection ?

You cannot revise and in any event you have to offer PayPal but can say cash on collection preferred.

Hi

you wont be able to change that as it has to be there, although technically you cannot refuse a PayPal payment on collected items it is very unsafe for sellers and cash is the way to go.

It's a shame you didn't list with postage as that way you would have been able to post with proof of posting and by a method which covers that value of item and you would have been covered by eBay seller protection.

As it stands if the buyer paid by PP they could come and collect and claim they didn't receive it and you wouldn't have a leg to stand on.  You could cancel bids from anyone you're not happy with but it's difficult to tell as they may work near you and be able to come and collect, people are very transient.

Don't let a buyer send their own courier either, that's as bad as handing them the item for free as again you would have no proof they had the item.
