Cancel a transaction. Make a refund

I have sold an item which is no longer available. I have requested cancellation via Ebay but the item still shows as being posted. When I go back into cancellation it shows the item is no longer showing. Paypal have no refunded. I have contacted the buyer but no response. Can anyone help with what I should do next. Many thanks

To cancel you should have used the reason Out of Stock. What you appear to have done is send the buyer a request to cancel, which they can accept or decline. If they do neither you can close the cancellation request after 10 days.

"shows the item is no longer showing"  Not sure what you mean, have you looked in the Resolution Centre?

Cancelling without the buyer's agreement leaves you open to Negative Feedback, no refund of the selling fee and a Defect.

Hi thanks for your comment. I think the problem is I paid for postage before I realised I didn't have the item. I don't think I have sent the buyer anything. Is there any way I can check? Thanks
