Can't send a message to a seller due to having exceeded the limit

Hi, I'm trying to reply to a seller re a query I had.  I'm getting a message which says "you've exceeded the number of messages sent try again after 24 hrs".   I haven't sient any messages since the middle of June so don't understand what this is about.  can anyone cast any light on how to resolve this.  As usual, Ebay's help centre is useless in trying to sort this out.  Thanks.

There are problems with messages and this problem has been reported on here quite a few times

Nothing you can do 

You could contact ebay but I am sure others will have already reported it
