Buyers getting scammed

Hi all

I am writing this as I have just had a complete stressful few days with a seller trying to scam me on here so hope this will help other buyers.

normaly it's the seller getting scammed but this newish way to scam a buyer is bad news.

the scam is done by you buying a item and paying as you would normaly do by PayPal which is all good as your covered.

but no your not always covered as I will explain.

so I brought a item and the seller sent the item 2nd class signed for so all good so far.

Friday comes and it says the item has been delivered but I was in all day and nothing was delivered at all so I phoned Royal Mail which are not great at helping in anyway at all.

I said it's saying the item delivered but it's not at my address so they look into it by tracking and said what's your address I said it and he said no it's been delivered to my postcode but not my house number which is really strange. I ask what house and he said plus 3 others said I'm not aloud to tell you that it's data protection which it's my parcel from my account how can that be right. This carried on for 3 calls and got no where.

and the worse thing is on eBay it shows delivered as well so eBay now think I have the parcel which I then called and said what has happened and they told me well unless you get proof from Royal Mail it's not at your address the seller will get the money. As I had to open a case.

so now I don't know where my parcel is and no way of finding out either and about to loose quiet a bit of money I don't have.

so after 2 days I had to walk to every door in my street to find it and by chance I did manage to get the parcel which when I got it was not a parcel at all it was a envelope with nothing in it so a scam as there was no name on the envelope just the wrong number house. Most people would throw this away that's the plan of the scammer anyway.

so the only way I have sorted this is by spending 2 days looking for it myself as on eBay when they close a case and the parcel shows it's delivered it does not say where and the money is reliesed to the seller.

ebay need to make a rule that postage has to have the receipt of postage uploaded as on the receipt it does say house number or don't cover the seller until they do.

Please be careful all there are some horrible please out there.

So now that you have got the envelope you open a "not as described" case in the resolution centre. The seller sends a label to return [or if not you escalate after 3 days] and when you send it abck you get a refund.

Do not open a non-receipt case.  You ordered a thing and got an empty envelope = not as described.

If this is a scam helped by them misusing RM get their Investigation involved
