I sold an item in early January. The guy received the goods and left me positive feedback.
Last week PayPal informed me he had asked his bank to get his money back because he hadn't authorised the transaction! I had to provide proof of posting plus other info. I had thrown the posting proof away as I assumed buyer was a happy bunny. Today PayPal tell me they have refunded his money, so now I have lost the item, the payment and fees. I have tried to message the guy but eBay are blocking the messages.
paypal said they are trying to help me but I'm not very happy. How can someone claim the money back like that , and nearly 3 months down the line.?
Any Buyer anywhere can Initiate a Charge Back with their Bank within 12 months. PayPal have no option other than comply with the Banks Instructions. You should keep all Postal Receipts for at least 13 months.
You will be charged another £14.00 admin Fee by PayPal.
