1: Why do offers get blocked once a bid has been registered?

2. What is the approved way of responding to a request for a buy it now price when auction bids have been received? I have used a work around by terminating the auction and readvertising at a fixed price, cumbersome and time consuming but perhaps I'm missing a simple solution?

1. once a bid has been placed the option to make offers is removed to make the auction fair.

2. if you cancel bids you are charged a final value fee based on the highest bid cancelled, and you get a defect on your account, so not good selling practise and the 'approved' way of dealing with a buy it now request after a bid is made, is to ask the person to bid along with everyone else.

if you prefer to sell through make an offer use the fixed price format set the price at the highest amount you think someone might pay and add the make an offer option
