About a month ago I sold an item but payment was initiated - I messaged buyer sending shots of payment not being received it was agreed she would cancel payment. The item still shows as payment waiting! She didn’t reorder but left me negative feedback - which I find very unfair I have asked nicely why the negative feedback she hasn’t replied I feel she is trying to sabotage my business has anyone ever had this happen to them? I have reported the buyer as she has being totally unreasonable

as the problem was your end, not the buyers it was up to you to sort it out,

why report the buyer for your mistake?

payment initiated means the email address used when creating the listing wasn't attached to your paypal account and you needed to add it to your profile in your paypal account

click on 'sell similar' to see what email address is in the payment field

I explained to the buyer the payment was initiated- I had amended email address (as advised) however after several days waiting the payment did not go through at all! I contacted the buyer who agreed to cancel the sale as her payment never reached me and for her to get her payment which was lost in limbo back! I only reported her last night after she gave me negative feedback yesterday - I had asked her nicely to retract her feedback as she knew it wasn’t my fault but a glitch with eBay! The only reason I reported her was for giving me negative feedback as it’s very unfair to leave me negative feedback saying she never received item (even though technically I never received the payment) how would you feel receiving bad feedback for something you and the seller both agreed to cancel sale due to glitch with the initiated payment? Would you have sent item without payment?? Also would you be the type leave negative feedback for an item you didn’t actually pay for and agreed to cancel? Very unfair

it wasn't a 'glitch' you made a mistake when creating the listing,

did you add the email address that you used to your profile in your paypal account and then confirm it?

as the payment didn't reach you, you can apply to ebay to get the feedback removed

It was a glitch as I had amended the email address on the listing after the ‘initiated’ payment message also this only happened with one item!! I always use the same email address! It even shows I’m still waiting for that payment in my ‘sold items’ so seems like a glitch! I find this all unfair personally especially when I had been in contact with the buyer who had seen the evidence that I had not received the payment and that it still says ‘waiting for payment’ the feedback she gave stated she never received the item - that’s what I have a problem with! Anyway thanks for your input. I will contact eBay later x

it was not a glitch if you had an incorrect email on the listing
A glitch is a problem that is caused by ebay.

You cant change a listing email after it has a bid or been bought.

Any item where the payment is cancelled goes back to awaiting payment

If the email you had on the listing was one you could use then you add it too paypal
If not then the buyer cancels the payment and you send a request money from paypal to the buyers email address
The buyer did not have a positive experience with this sale.

And neither did I! All I did was try to help the buyer we were conversing fine and agreed to cancel the payment then she leaves bad feedback months later implying she paid me but never received the item! Like I say thanks for your input I will be speaking to eBay who can see past messages/ conversations with the buyer and maybe they can explain the initiated payment problem and why it wasn’t amended the whole issue has left me quite deflated - like I say I tried to help the buyer and was honest it’s not like I received her payment and didn’t send item like she has suggested! thank you all for your help I will no longer comment on this thread/ post - I’ll ask ebay to rectify this matter
