Hi All I have not had cause to ask you goods people for your help and support.
I recently sold a job lot of mobile phones and tablets to a person at have the asking price, I described in my description that I new nothing what so ever about these, just junk In total there were six items. The buyer came back later asking for a refund because he had found that one of the items was a fake.
Ebay in the wisdom decided to give the rebate.
I asked them to stop the refund till this had been investigated by law. Of course they would not have any of this. I sked to suspend the refund for the 30 days allowed by ebay rules again they refused. I have conned by a very devious con artist.
PLEASE PLEASE HELP I AM DESPERATE to prove I am not a cheat.
Pat.
Don't take it personally. You don't have to prove you're not a cheat.
We don't know exactly how you listed or described this job lot, but if the buyer claims that one of them is a fake eBay will have taken their word for this.
There is no "investigation" on eBay. In the user agreement, you have agreed to accept eBay's decision. And eBay's policy is that they will support the buyer unless they can determine that the item is not as described. Which they never can, because they don't even see the item, or ask for any evidence.
It's the same for all sellers. Buyers can invent any reason to return items. You just have to accept it, and send them a prepaid return label if you them back. If the buyer keeps the good phones and returns the junk don't expect eBay to take your word for this either!
There is "no time to investigate provided by law". As explained you get 8 days with eBay, the buyer sends the item back and then you refund. End of, really.
There is no way you can suspend thing for 30 days.
It does not matter what the facts are, as explained. If you did not accept the case then eBay may refund without the need to return and you have got a defect.
No one is saying you are a cheat. The buyer claims one is a fake, not that you knew it was a fake.
When a buyer claims not as described then they should open a dispute in the resolution centre
You send a pre paid label for the return of the item and once you have it back then you refund in full
you get your fees back and no defect on your account
If you allowed the buyer to do the dispute and escalate to ebay for the refund then you are left with the fees and a defect
Ebay will not delay disputes for any reason
Disputes are time lined and you have to keep to the times
There is nothing you can do if the dispute has closed
