Ads on Ebay

I foillowed a link on the top of Ebay to a site saying I had won a mobile phone fro participating in a survey. Before handing over my debit card details I checked out the site address and it is flagged a sa scam. why is Ebay putting its reputation on the line by turning itself into a vehicle for scam sites? 

Stick to Amazon in future.

The ad has nothing to do with ebay. If you download Adblock you will stop seeing these ads. I never see them and I have Adblock free on my laptop.

So why do they appear on Ebay pages? sounds like Ebay are just being
evasive if they say the ads on their site are nothing to do with them .
Like I say I will stick to Amazon as far as possible now, less worry, far
less hassle and much more reliable.
