A seller just cancelled my bid

I was winning an auction for a kindle that was probably going to be cheaper than the seller would have liked and they have cancelled the bid, is this something that is allowed? I have messaged the seller to ask why they have cancelled the bid.

Is this something that eBay allows?

sellers are allowed to cancel bids right up to the end of the listing

they don't have to give a reason and they aren't penalised for doing so.

That's so bad, why would you not just put a reserve on the item I feel like I have been scammed

A reserve is not the answer as it costs a lot to add a reserve. The seller should have started at a price they were willing to accept. If they cancelled your bid then did they end the listing?.It is very bad ebaying

It is not good ebaying but it is the sellers item so they can do what they want.

Nothing you can do about it.

They may end up paying the final value fees
