The (new) last to post here wins, thread :-)

OK, so these at ebay towers have demolished the door to our dungeon, we've been up all night tunnelling in again, and here's the new entrance!

Hopefully all the guards will soon find their way back in, and 'normal' service will be resumed as soon as possible.

The inmates seem to still be here, also the torture play room and all the usual toys. The young dragons were a bit peckish, so good job we got back in today - tomorrow may have seen them nibbling the inmates!

The hot chocolate wasn't very hot when I got back in, but is now fresh, and storecupboards and fridges full of the usual food.

Apologies to any innmates who have missed some meals, but bacon butties coming soon, to compensate for our 'technical' hitch.

No making fun of the elderly please!

Just been over to Derbyshire, returning daughter dragon to her home. (So we're feeling shattered after return trip between 2pm and now!

She came for a few days but seems to have become nocturnal again, and was awake teatime till silly hours of morning, so didn't see as much of her as we expected!  I'll admit I've always been fairly nocturnal, but I do tend to get up when it's still morning!!

The other dragons are tutting in the background here, time to get them placated with early suppers and hot choccy, biccies etc!

Re: The (new) last to post here wins, thread :-)

Hot food for tonight - (many thanks mally for lots of pudding!)  It's brass monkey weather and the dragons are demanding lots of hot winter foodstuffs!

Huge amounts of thick Minestrone soup with crusty breads, or thick vegetable soup alternative for any Veggies.

Dragon family favourite - Panackelty (big stew with beef, roast root veg etc under layer of slightly crispy potato slices. Beetroot/red cabbage/etc as extras on side.

Veggie alternative, as above but with roast peppers and peas instead of the beef.

Puds as supplied by Mally, either hot or cold, and custard  / cream / icecream available.

Two young dragons have just asked if they can have theirs right now - not quite got the 'tonight' reference!  Have compromised by saying I'll have food ready 4pm onwards, and sent  them away with plate of hot buttered griddle scones!  (Due to previous comments, I've ceased to call them 'girdle' scones, which is what Mum called them, presumably a NE dialect corruption of 'griddle!')

Homebase sent an email yesterday - Subject: Is your garden ready for spring?

Probably not, it's under an inch or two of snow.

:^O maybe your "girdle" was right, as we would need one after eating so many.

Re: The (new) last to post here wins, thread :-)

Like you do when it's freezing outside, OH decided it was a good day to defrost the freezers!!

(We have 2, one on top of the other) Usually we stuff as much as possible into one, and the surplus into an electric coolbox while dealing with the freezer being thawed, but coolbox fuse has gone, so we now have food in a coolbox, sitting outside in the snow!

Lower freezer dealt with, contents of top freezer stuffed into bottom one, drawers washed out and now awaiting all food putting back into sensible order in the drawers!  Mauling about in freezers and clearing ice has been great fun as you may imagine.  Not impressed. 😞

However, all drawers now open more easily and we can re-stock tomorrow, having been 'running down' the food ready for sorting freezers out!!

Need my tea right now!!  Or at least after finishing with freezers!
