Well, all I can say is that this Treasure Hunt is a great thing if you're on a diet! Especially when something that you really REALLY want is up for grabs! I woke around 4am today, and decided to wander through to see what the prize today would be: A digital camcorder. And not just one, but one per 2 hours. And then, thanks to what seemed to be the clue elfs liking for lambrini, it changed to 2 per hour. Thank you, all at Ebay, for honouring what must have been a mistake! There have been camcorders being won at a frantic rate all day - I came very close no less than 5 times during the afternoon (I won't tell you what I was screaming at the screen the 5th time I just missed it!) and then at just after 8 this evening, I was lucky enough to be the first bidder! So thanks to you guys, my partner will get a fabulous present this Christmas, something that he's been wanting for some time, too! - now I just have to search for a gag so I don't spill the beans the moment I see him...!
The reason this means so very much to me is that because I'm disabled, my partner was going to have to take me shopping for a Christmas present for him, and I always feel really rotten when I can't get him something to really surprise him. But never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd be able to surprise him with something as great as this!
Its now 1 1/2 hours since my win, and I've nearly stopped shaking, haven't yet stopped grinning, and spent much of the past hour and a half on the phone to friends and family babbling incoherently at them, although I think the message got across to them.
So although it was hard going at times it has been very well worth it, and I'd say to anyone who isn't immediately lucky - keep trying. Your turn may well come too.
