Thank you Towery - your stitching is very neat - much neater than mine!

🙂
thankyou,
i havent sewn felt for ages, some of that thread must be 20 yrs old and that red braid in the double ended bookmark is much older - think it was my mums from the 70's, i found a bag with ribbons and bindings in while having a sort out last year.
glad i remembered about the buttons 🙂
how are you feeling after your last 'clean out'?

Towery - pain is managable so long as I don't move about much and I don't have to go anywhere so I can get comfy in bed and just stay there. I have this nasty feeling that the consultant is wanting the "washout" to become a regular method of managing the infection.

Perhaps it's working though if the hole is getting smaller?

Sorry for late entrance ladies but we had a power cut yesterday due to storm. Thank you sooo much for my lovely heart and card. I cant post a pic cos my camera is kaput so I will describe instead. It is a red filled heart with 2 graduated hearts in the front, on the back it has several little glass beads sewn on. It is my first one and I love it. It is hanging proudly on my dressing table mirror. I have no idea who sent it but I would like to know so I can thank them personally 🙂

Yours was sent by Carolyorkie.
Did everyone expecting a heart get one? Well done all if we had 100% arrivals!

Maggie - the problem is that what is needed is for the hole to get shallower, not smaller. It getting smaller actually presents problems as it makes it difficult to get the silver dressing and the gauze packing into the hole. They also can't let it heal up until the infection is cleared, otherwise it will just all flare up again.

That's exactly what had to happen with my ulcers. I thought they were doing well as they kept healing over very well.........................only for them to break down again as the hole underneath became infected. I don't see HOW it can get infected when it has a good scab on the top, but it can, obviously. There was one time even when the clinic where treating it, they said it was healing too quickly. It seems it's a delicate balance!

I see what you mean. I had just that problem with a hysterectomy wound & they kept packing it with a seaweed type stuff. Let's hope for shallower holes.

Did you put a list on Maggie of who sent to who? (or is that 'whom'?)

Glad you like it, Calibra; what a coincience that I was your Secret Santa too! LOL Might even be chosen for the Easter swap. As for the heart, I aren't into making things really so I did a compromise and bought the kit, then just had to sew and stuff it. I put 14 beads on the back for the date; afterwards I wished I had arranged them as the figure 14. And yes, I thought the doggy card might have been a clue
