hi tara we have tiscali as well for broadband and phone and we only pay depending how often i ring my daughter abroad and we only pay on average between £30 and £35 per month.

we have good internet speed with no fibre optic and pay for none of our calls apart from Lisa and if we have to call a premium number.so you can judge yours from there but you itemised call rate seems very high.:-)

We are with TalkTalk as well.

Check your call duration - the length of time you are on the phone for each call.

With your package you have free, unlimited calls to Australia, America, Europe, New Zealand and Canada but only for up to 60 minutes per call.

If you hang up after 59 minutes and 59 seconds and then redial the call is free but if you go over the 60 minutes on a call then you are charged at between 35p and £1.20 per minute depending on where you are calling.

So a 90 minute call to Australia will cost you £36.00 on top of your bill but if you speak for 50 minutes, hang up and redial and speak for another 50 minutes the call is free.

Did your International Boost only start on the 28th April?

If all your calls are for less than 60 minutes then give TalkTalk customer service a call - after 6pm is best as you tend to get the call centre in South Africa who are brilliant - and ask them to explain why you have been charged for what should be a free call.

We are with Sky and at times, well quite a lot of the time, it's absolute rubbish and it can take half an hour at least sometimes to get on line.  If you are thinking of changing Tara, I certainly would not recommend Sky.

Why not get Skype set up - its excellent, easy to set up and its free.

You can talk to relatives overseas using the computer.  With a webcam you can see them at the same time.

My partner uses it to talk to his Dad in the Caribbean all the time and it doesn't cost a penny.

I can't help with the pricing but to me it sounds high.  I just have basic internet from Virgin and it costs £22.50 a month.  Only had it set up a week but so far is very fast and efficient.  The first 3 months are £17.50.

I talk to my Mum and Dad and loads of other people using Skype so there is nothing more to pay.  I can't remember the last time I spoke to Mum and Dad on a normal phone they love Skype and are not techy at all but they love using it. Other than that I have a payg mobile.

We use facetime to talk to son and family in Australia. It's good as long as OH doesn't forget it has video & answers it in the nude & traumatises the grandchildren!
