Didn't see the programme Towery but we eat a real variety of meats.
OH loves roasts - beef, lamb, gammon, turkey, but we also love steaks and I cook a lot with chicken and mince. Add to that bacon and sausages and I think that covers everything.
Also love fish.

I love meat but hubby doesn't. He eats chicken, turkey, liver and kidney and bacon if it's cremated! He never eats beef, pork or lamb or anything else. Not even cooked meat such as ham, beautiful home cooked ham with no fat....and he won't even try it!!!
I love meat, any kind but I have to do it in the slow oven because I haven't got the teeth for tough meat. I've never tried veal or vennison though. I love duck breast and cooked meat such as pastrami and tongue.....I just LOVE meat!!! I often buy a joint just for me. I either eat it all within a few days or I slice it up and wrap it in little tin foil parcels and freeze it. A few veg and spuds and I've got a roast dinner for one in half an hour.
(I love fish too) (and veg) (In fact, I love food!!!!)

I eat every sort of meat that they sell really. The more expensive stuff when it's on offer. I also eat most fish & shellfish, crabs etc. Love it all!

I didn't see it either but we eat meat daily in our house .... its often meat, mash + 2 or 3 other fresh veg. The only exception is my sat night chinese although that still has meat 😄

I did not see the programme but i eat a LOT of Chicken as its my Favourite. Lamb is too expensive,,my tummy can be a bit funny with Pork and it gets in my teethe. I love Beef if its not too expensive. I do like lamb aswell though. I like beef quite rare. If its tender and soft it is Beautiful. My teeth cant take meat thats too tough!!.
I could never go veggie,,,thats no disrespect to all you veggies out there. i like my meat too much!!!!.

the progamme is on iplayer for a few weeks more
its number 1 out of this series, ive yet to watch 2 i may have chance later
it was interesting as to what recommendation he came up with after doing a short meat eating trial
mainly to do with beef and bacon the first programme
there was a scetion that showed a clonoscopy video of what a polyp looked like, but nothing gorier than a bloody steak and some raw meat
we eat a selection of meats beef, pork, lamb, chicken sometimes, minced beef dishes the odd burger
we dont eat as much fish or seafood these days

Fish and chicken mainly, minced beef once a week in either chilli, spaghetti bolognaise or cottage pie, 2 nights a week we tend to be veggie.

Turkey is a good source of protien & very low fat too. I use it in stir fry quite a bit. I don't think of it as a seasonal food & it's cheap.:)

I love meat, any except buffalo, I didn't like that at all. I think I've had venison sausages once but I can't remember!!!!
my appetite is poor though, I can't be bothered cooking properly which is norty as I end up eating sandwiches. I cook for OH though, I just have a small portion of what he has. I seem to have forgotten how to vary stuff!!!....I blame my age hahahahaaa.

I cook meat or fish every day for hubby, im not fond of meat though i will have a bit of turkey or beef with a roast dinner if its sliced thin & i don't eat fish except tinned tuna does that count as fish LOL

I tend to think of turkey as only for Christmas! I suppose it keeps it a bit 'special'. I suppose I could just buy the breasts as hubby wouldn't eat the legs anyway. At least at Christmas if you buy a big bird there are lots of people to eat it.
I never use ready meals. I don't think they look very appetising, are reportedly full of salt and chemicals and cost more than using fresh. I never eat frozen veg either, except peas. I find frozen veg are very watery and insipid.
I do sometimes use frozen Yorkshires if I run out of home made. (another thing I make and freeze Maggie) and I even freeze gravy if I've made too much. Thrifty, that's me!!

it was the type and amount of beef and bacon that was mainly covered in the 1st programme
he ate just those meats as his protein for a month and his cholestoral went up by .6 i think it was
the weight he added was mainly around his middle
they didnt say cut out all together, just to eat more veg with leaner meat, and the amount per serving about 100g (i think that was the amount)
proceessed foods such as bacon, sausages were worse than i thought 😞

Well you can't get leaner than Turkey or chicken.:)

I still think cholesterol is much more hereditary than dietry. I have friends who eat all the right stuff and are on statins and me and hubby for example eat the wrong stuff, I eat meat and he lives on eggs, cheese and pastry and both ours is fine.
I had heard that bacon was one of the worst things you can eat. Can't remember why though.

Rather more expensive than the Chicken or Turkey though.:)
