I know that most of you will be already aware of this, but with the rush of Christmas preparations thought I would just post this. I have been inundated with phone calls in the past week or so from "James" "John" etc. with the Asian accent claiming that I have a problem with my computer and wanting access to "fix" it. Most of us have our own standard replies to this type of call but please make sure that your older relatives or the youngsters in your family know about it. With the amount of these calls I have received recently it looks like they are making a renewed attempt at this scam. The latest ones are from "Windows Care Dept."

I answer NO calls on my landline in the daytime - and will only answer calls after 6pm provided the phone rings three times first - that way I KNOW it is a personal call.
Any calls on my mobile if they come up as "suspect" or "number withheld" then again I dont answer. If it is a "proper" call then I away a voice mail.
this is the only way that I can ensure that I dont answer any phone to these type of idiots - including the PPI cold calling

If they are rude to call me at 7 pm plus in the eveningf then I am not goin to be very pleasant to them simple as.

We've got a two year old who would offer to help them!! If the scammers did ring, they'd get short shrift.
