i have been at work all afternoon to bake for the tea party open day tomorrow
firstly we have cheese straws and sausage rolls

then we have buns and almond cherry cake

then we have scones which are giong to be topped with jam and cream
it took me hours and i am very tired:-)

my cheese straws are legendry at work i make them every monday and people beg to be allowed to work.so they can have one.even when the relatives come to my kitchen door they say are you the lady who does cheese straws.
its nice to be famous for something:-)

Looks yummy cookie, i baked today , but gave it away, sponge cake with strawberries & cream and made a egg custard (minus pastry) i still make cakes, the way my mother taught me, on old fashioned scales, but use eggs as the weights, so you can use pullet or banty eggs.
Never made cheese scones, but think i might try

The scales look awful, but they where my mothers and i always cover with greaseproof paper
You need the old fashioned scales and put your eggs where the weights usually are and then weigh butter,sugar, mix them together, the flour is then weighed and the eggs mixed in one at a time

I do the same with electronic scales. Weigh the eggs and then weigh the the other ingredients to the same weight.
You've got to start them young haven't you Gina. 😄
