I bought a collection of Y. Candles from Q*V a while ago. nearly all of them are faulty, of course you don't burn them all at once so can't return them can I as 30 day money back has ran out.
One large one is supposed to smell of pineapple. It's been lit today for over 10hrs and not a sniff
On another one the wick burned right out before a third of the wax had gone.
are these candles not as smelly anymore? I do like the tart burners but the night lights go out too quick and I forget to replace them!!!!

I don't often use the candles as I find they are not as perfumed as the tarts. The exception being a Lemon Lavender & a Fresh Cut Roses which were lovely. I do think they vary though.

That annoys me with the candles,,,,the middle always burns away right down to the wick and your left with loads of wax still left in the burning apparatus!!!. I sometimes break wax up and burn it around if it burns too quick. They never seem to burn straight!!!. I know you are supposed to trim the wick if its too long.

Use the waste wax in a tart burner.

Yes i have got a Tart Burner. But BEWARE ladies. I used my tart burner and the plate bit just cracked one night. Probably i had burned it too long but please be careful. I have to get another plate. GOOD IDEA. Thank you.

I love the large jars, but find that the small jars are a waste of money. The small jars do not seem to have a big enough pool of wax to release the scent. I used to have a problem with tunnelling but then I bought the illuma lid and have never had a jar tunnel every since.
I would contact QV* though and explain the problem - I find that their C.S. are pretty good even after the 30 days.

I like the tumbler style yankee candles as they burn properly, never get tunnelling with them. But have recently bought some normal jars and they do have good scents, but tunnelling occurs even if I burn correctly and trim the wicks.
I am having to try to mask the stinky monkey smell, lol. In the pet room I have a tart burner on daily (usually just the burning of one tealight) as it's safer and less strong smelling.
I would contact the company you bought them off in the first instance. If no luck, contact YK directly 🙂

I only buy the Samplers to burn. I see they have other products out to do with yankee like Car Air Freshners and Lip Balms

I lurvesssssssssssssss yankees but do find the tarts burn better with a stronger scent for longer.
though will admit I do tend to only get the large jars as gifts or buffday presents as with most am penny watching so a melt a week doesn't break the bank

That's a shame Gina as it's gorgeous! Lemon Lavender is very strong & I can only burn it for short periods.

Captain, not many people realise this, but you have at least 6 months under the 'Sale of Goods' act to make a complaint for a faulty item (not fit for purpose)
http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/problem/what-do-i-do-if-i-have-a-faulty-product
I do know someone who had their faulty TV replaced after they had owned it for nearly 8 months! They were refused at first, but then they mentioned SOGA...
I am aware that the timescale allowed can be outside of 8 months too in certain circumstances.

Years ago in the early sixties - oops, I'm showing my age, hee, hee, there were a series of power strikes which left half the country in the dark after 4.00pm. Shoplifting was rife. and as soon as the power went, everybody was turfed out of Woolworths for obvious safety reasons. Thus said Woolworths themselves were very opportunist selling box after box after box of candles. They must have known something was in the wind - no company would have that big a stockpile. They also pulled off the most audatious con going.
I spent £1.00 - an absolute fortune in 1960 buying a whole stack of "Special offer" candles marked up as "Imperfect" which I took to mean as broken. You couldn't see what you were buying in that light.
"Imperfect" was the understatement of the century:
THEY HAD NO WICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My late father tried to laugh it off, buy I came close to throwing away my schooling. I came so CLOSE to putting a brick through their door!

I remember the Power Cuts in the sixties and early seventies,,,when we used to get the candles out. It was very spooky in our little cottage we lived in... I never wanted to go up to bed and sat up until lights were on again. OMG that seems like years away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

We're BOTH showing our ages! The entire country was on strike - then there was the three day week strike with anti Government banners and stickers saying "Put Heath on a NO- DAY WEEK!" The thing was, any Government could have kept the country on a five day week - all you'd have to do would be to sign an empty cheque to each union in turn and to hell with inflation, although Harold Wilson had that one sorted out as soon as he came into office - gave himself a 20% rise and then had the audacity to say: "Now let's freeze wages. And then for good measure followed it up by:
"The pound in your pocket will not be affected by inflation."
Working class Tory, and proud of it. God bless Margaret Thatcher. Single handedly broke the power of the unions.

I remember I had to do my homework by candlelight which wasn't very helpfull as it was my exam year.
I am afraid I can't help with yankee candles I have never had one, but I have bought ones that are similar, I think maybe they only put the perfume in the top inch or so so when that has gone there is no more smell..
