Yoo-hoo can you see me from behind that vino bottle and glasses and all them empty choccie wrappers

no storm here to clear the air just one almighty down pour that came so fast it flooded off the field and turned the lane into a lake,

Re: Wow, 24 degrees outside and what a show of lightening.

I've just checked the Met Office and we are supposed to be having a thunderstorm now but it's not arrived yet thankfully.  Then again it's better it thundering now than during the night.

Is that link supposed to update itself automatically when there is a strike?

It all seems very quite around the world.

Re: Wow, 24 degrees outside and what a show of lightening.

Looks like you have it bad tonight CG. That's what we had last night! It's been a gorgeous afternoon & the forecast for the week is scorching with no more rain until Friday! 🙂

Re: Wow, 24 degrees outside and what a show of lightening.

It's not actually as bad as it was between 4 and 5 this morning Maggie, but it's thundering almost non-stop from before 9pm.

Lottie's panting (in the pantry!) and Molly just ignores it.  Let's hope she stays like that.

Lets hope so. Damson is enjoying someone new to make a fuss of her! Pat has brought the sunshine with her.:)

Re: Wow, 24 degrees outside and what a show of lightening.

A lot of action going on in Essex - loads of strikes.

Poor dog gc, hope it is over soon.

Mine isn't bothered at all by lightning or fireworks, being a springer and a gun dog before someone gave her to me.

I used to have a collie years ago and she would shake like crazy during a storm and press herelf into me as much as she could.

Re: Wow, 24 degrees outside and what a show of lightening.

Have you tried Bach Rescue Remedy for pets gc?

I have friends whose dogs are fearful of storms and fireworks and they have said it helps.

According to the advert: Rescue Remedy Pet is a combination of 5 Bach Flower Remedies to help your pet deal with stressful situations such as: going to the vet, the groomer, thunderstorms and during fireworks. We have heard fantastic stories from people giving Rescue Remedy to their dogs when having seizures.

Re: Wow, 24 degrees outside and what a show of lightening.

Sorry about the mess on the post before, I don't know what happened, I think it's because I lost my internet!!  I already lost sky earlier!  I think internet has gone again now!

Yes, that map, we're the only place in the whole country, just like last night.

I wouldn't bother with the tranx from the vet, I once got them for a different dog, years ago, and they made her worse.  I think the thunder still frightened her but now she was unable to think straight to 'get away from it'

With the amount we're getting recently she might even get used to it.  Molly doesn't care at all.

Having said that, Molly and I were just out on the decking and there was one of those deafening cracking thunder claps right overhead.................................she shot in then!!!

I'm prattling on because I can't post this at the moment as the internet has gone again.

Another ear shattering one and she's getting a little uneasy.  I'm not even looking at her!

There's sports on TV live from London and it's lovely weather.  London is only 90 miles away. (I think)

Ooooh I'm back, here goes......

Re: Wow, 24 degrees outside and what a show of lightening.

Told you it was raining!

It's stopped now and it seems to be getting brighter.

Molly didn't mind it really.

Re: Wow, 24 degrees outside and what a show of lightening.

Awww - lucky Molly.

We had a wee doggie that was literally scared of it's own shadow.

It could tell when a thunderstorm was coming and would start shaking, trying to find somewhere to hide and even rushed into the understairs cupboard once which mercifully had a concrete floor where he had a little accident and was even more upset to embarrass himself.

Fireworks were just as bad and if a hot air balloon went overhead - well that was the end of the world!  The aliens were coming and we were all doomed.

Re: Wow, 24 degrees outside and what a show of lightening.

We used to have a dog who would hide under the bed about 15 minutes before we got thunder and he'd stay there until it had finished.  He was the same with fireworks.

It's sunny here with some cloud at the moment and it's very warm.  Hope that it cools down before bed time as I need a good sleep tonight as I didn't sleep well last night due to shoulder problems.   Never mind, there's plenty worse than me.

Re: Wow, 24 degrees outside and what a show of lightening.

My wee dog used to get into my bed and burrow under the duvet, right to the bottom. She would then whine until I came with her favourite toy, latest chewy (bleurgh) and me!  I'd get no peace unless I got in the bed with her, then she'd be ok, licking my feet Woman LOL

I was just thinking, I don't think we ever had thunder and lightning in the daytime - seem to recall always at night?  Someone clever like Pete would know.

Dear Aernethril - can I ask please what does your name mean?  **am intrigued**  It sounds lovely and kind of Welsh?  Bet I am way off track.
