Instead of the lives we lead and have chosen, if you could do anything what would you do?

I wanted to be a pilot, but wasn't cleaver enough, always had a hankering to be the first woman in the Red Arrows,
a dream I know I fell from one job to another and never really chose it, I fully intend to take a degree on the OU when I can afford it.

gosh Ed you and I have so much in common....I wanted to be an art teacher of littlies, but parents got the wrong end of the stick and thought I wanted to be an artist (you know, wandering around the place painting landscapes!!) plus the deputy head made this epic statement "well there isn't much call for women in the art world"....glug glug, my career sinks without trace
I went into nursing and other careers after that, they wanted me to be a secretary...ended up doing a PA job amongst others but I never really settled to anything. I did think of trying for teaching when I was in my 30's but as we don't have kids, I couldn't get a grant to help me and we couldn't afford for me to give up work.

If I was just starting out, I would do something that involved animals, vet nurse or something like that. I've often said that if I win the lottery, I want a smallholding.

I would be living somewhere bigger with lots of animals. i wish now i had gone to Veterinary College, but i do love animals they make me happy.
Or i would love to live somewhere tropical or somewhere like Switzerland. One extreme or the other , i know it sounds weird but thats what i like. Somewhere snowy and peaceful. ( no not the ARTIC ha ha ha ha ).

If I lived abroad, it would have to be somewhere snowy like Austria; not for me the hot countries I'm afraid.

Austria would be lovely, especially in the snow, all those hot toddies and wooly jumpers, lovely especially if you didn't have to go to work,
