I know what I should do,but just wondered what you would do. Sorry for the rambling.
I am always up early (don't sleep well) this morning at 4.20am I was drinking my coffee and heard a noise outside in the street, looked out of the window and saw a man literally fall out of a car. It was still fairly dark so couldn't really make out whose car it was, anyway I watched him then fall into the driveway of the people's house opposite. He then staggered to the front door whilst, fiddling in his pockets, I assume trying to find his keys . He then tried to get the key in the door without much luck. Yep you guessed he was in the wrong house. Then he staggered and swayed back down the drive falling into the wall en route. .He then walked into a tree, then into another neighbours car, before finally getting to the gate of his own home, where he promptly fell over the recycling box . He then spent a further 5 minutes or so trying to get up, then even more time trying to get the key in the lock. Eventually he did.
I know this sounds really funny and if I am honest it would be amusing, if it were not so serious that he drove in that condition. Now I do know for a fact he has already served a 3 year ban, albeit years ago, for drink driving. Which in my opinion means he couldn't care less and hasn't learnt anything from it. I really don't care if he hurts himself but I do care for others and would hate to see someone hurt or worse all because of this silly man, Or because I didn't report him.
I won't say at this time if I have or haven't reported him to the Police, I jsut wanted to know what others thought.
Thank you ladies for reading my rant.

Have thought about it, if I saw him getting back into his car, definately. Otherwise I would speak to the local pcso then they would keep an eye on him they can't do anything unless there is proof he was driving I think.
A woman who lives around the corner was caught in her car waiting to pick her children up from school, she was 3 times the legal limit, banned for 2 years and a massive fine. What sort of mother picks up her kids from school blind drunk then drives them home.

I would definitely report it to the police. This person could seriously injure someone at best or kill someone at worst. **bleep** like this need to be taken off the road for years and also they should be fined heavily.

You should be able to contact them through the area police website, we don't see ours either, but they are there. If you see him getting into his car ring 999. People like that make my blood boil.

Me too, had it of been the other way round ie I had seen him drinking then getting in the car I would have done it there and then. But in all honesty till I saw him doing his ministry of silly walks it didn't really dawn on me he was completely off his trolley.

as people have said once he is inside his own house there is nothing the police will do .but i would still ring them and at least they can keep an eye on hium and his car and maybe watch pub carpark for his car and catch him that way.

OK so here is a little update. I did report him. I have just had another call from the Police who wanted some more information. Apparently, I should have dialled 999 this morning as the crime is "Being drunk in charge of a Motor vehicle" by that they mean, if the keys are in your possession, even if you are out of the car, they can still arrest you for the offence. Oh well you learn something new everyday. I only wish I had known that early this morning.
Thank you for your thoughts

I think if they'd come when the engine was still warm, with him obviously drunk and you as a witness (and no other 'driver' owning up) they perhaps might have been able to do something. As it's too late for that now, I would phone the police station and just inform them and ask them what the position would have been and if you should ring them if you see this behaviour again.

Go on the Court Web site, its laughable, the amount of drink drivers up in court some second and third time!! FGS. not many fines over £500! bans not long enough in my opinion.

Very True. They should ban you for life if you do it again, I do know of someone though who got done a third time and got sent to prison. I can't understand how they can afford the insurance premiums after being done once let alone twice or more. If they have insuranc I suppose.

No hesitation at all ! Would have called the police as I have seen to much carnage created by drunk drivers. Selfish unconsiderate barstewards that have brought so much misery and suffering into innocent families lives.
