Or maybe you are doing it? Following on from a post on here about "finding your vocation", I wonder if any - or all - of us have found ours yet?

My only ambition was to get married and have a BABY!!! which is what I did.
Doesn't sound very glamorous or exciting but it suited me, and even if I say so myself, I think I made a bl**dy good job of it!!

first of all I wanted to go to Uni and study law, parents said I had to go out and earn money as I had been a drain on the finances for long enough. Then I wanted to join the Wrens but parents refused that as well. In the end I married young and had children and gave up on ambition. I'm retired now so it's too late, but it's great to see my children and their partners being free to follow dreams.

One I've wanted to do for more years than I care to remember is own a wool shop. I would have loved that.

One of my cousins has a son who has an archaelogy degree. Adam goes all over the country digging in fields and he's even been over to Southern Ireland on a few digs. He really loves his job.

I'm doing the job I love and my only regret is not doing it sooner. I've been
doing it over 25 years now and have seen some places and met some
people in that time. I wouldn't choose to change it even though the pay
is awful, considering what we do.

Dear Fishy, curiosity - how did you get into coach driving in the first place? I would say I was a good driver but no way could I have the confidence to drive a coach

No way could I be a farmer's wife, it is very hard work, I've lived very close to 2 and saw what they did. One of them will be lambing now, Dod. One day his coos escaped and galloped through the gardens, Lordy what a mess. Went right through my (low) fence.
*** waves to Chris *** - Och I'm ok, just a bit blue today. Good part - I spoke with my lovely son (he's in Oz), I always try SO hard not to cry - and I always do, lol. Working like a maniac, painting with hammerite, which is quite easy but very boring, my table and chairs are looking good though. What are you up to? Knitting like a maniac How's your Mum?
