I have tried my hand at card making and intend to carry on, I have made some decorations and calenders. I have made two crochet rugs for the chairs for the dogs to sleep on and I have made some new friends.
I am looking for another challenge now to take on,
Not sewing, nothing to do with sewing or knitting I have neither the inclination or patience for them.
Something crafty, but not something that will take days to do.
This is your challenge should you wish to undertake it.....................................

VERY easy
you need a latch tool which is about £1.50
some hessian (again very cheap)
that one is a a kit
but i now make rag rugs and i much prefer that
i use old t shirts
they give the best effect
i take the patterned/picture fronts and make them into quilts
so they have all their favourite outgrown t shirts in a quilt
and then the sleeves and back i make into rugs
they are really warm underfoot and easy to lift and lay and do a bit each night

No seriously Merling keep them coming they are wonderful so many ideas if I can't find something out of that lot it is a bad job.

Thanks Merlin - I quite fancy the idea of making a rug - I need to find something to do that doesn't require a great amount of talent. Thanks x

instead of clay for modelling use salt dough it cooks in the oven then you paint and varnish.
these are all made out of salt dough

i didnt make these, they were made for me and sit under a glass dome in the kitchen
but also made from clay

i just faff along Capt
seldom is anything planned
it just happens
and often starts out as something else
can you see an MDCC listing?
Buy this, i dont know what it will eventually be, but its starting out as soap, it could be a t shirt, a christmas bauble or a jar of chutney or even a rug

I think that Merlin's makes are brilliant. I think that you could make a packet if you started to sell them Merlin.

selling means pressure
i potter around making all sorts of things
if it goes wrong, well, its only me that is let down

Hi Merlin - sorry I had signed off earlier and have just come back on and seen your posts - many thanks for the video clip - it looks fairly easy, I.m quite tempted to have a go. Thanks again x
BTW we went to the races on Boxing Day and there was a horse called Merlin - so I just had to back it, and it was the only winner that I got all afternoon :). Mind you we only place the minimum bet, so I didn't become a millionaire, but it was nice that you were responsible for my one and only win 🙂

how lovely!
you can get kits on here
look for ones at auction if you are buying one
if not
a latch hook tool and some hessian
and beg for old t shirts
cut into strips
and you are away
if you go down that route
remember to leave a border to turn when you have finished
its very addictive!!

Hi - I've just been looking at them on here and I think I had better try a kit first until I get the right idea - at least that way the fabric will be all cut to the right length etc and I will have a pattern to follow. I'm quite eager to give it a go - thanks again 🙂

when you buy a kit you get wee bales of wool
cut into nice strips a few inches long
when you make your own they are all sorts of widths
t shirt material stretches out nicely and it does all look the same eventually
its terribly forgiving
get a pattern that isnt awfully busy
i have a door sized santa coming out if a chimney (brickwork/presents/bows etc)
hmph
it was supposed to be finished before christmas
i left it
it wasnt as relaxing

Thanks for the advice - I think something fairly plain and simple to begin with - I really do not possess any talent or skills 🙂
