Weekend TV

Anyone else fed up with the weekend TV programmes? Family Fortunes and Mr & Mrs seem to have gone very stale. Maybe the programme planners think everybody is out on a weekend. And yes, I know there are umpteen freeview channels, but I can't find anything of interest there. At least next month we'll have the X Factor back on our screens, better than nothingCat Happy

I often record things that I like for times when there's nothing that I fancy on live.

I'm not keen on TV myself but I'm watching the White Queen....it's a bit rubbish though.
Remember the Variety shows that used to be on a Saturday night, they were good.
I hate reality TV

I agree that TV is rubbish these days.  I also hate programmes like Big Brother, BGT, Celebrity Big Brother and the like.  I don't see the point of them really but that's my opinion.

Do you mean ones like the London Palladium, CB?  I like some reality programmes, especially I'm a celebrity get me out of here (well, someone has to boost the viewing figures, LOL) Dancing on Ice is ok, bit it all depends who is on. I'm A Celeb seems to consist of hasbeens trying to reinvent their flagging careers. I love Emmerdale, it seems to have good storylines at the moment.  Woman Happy Wish we had some decent emoticons to choose from.

I like The White Queen, The Borgias, 24 hours in A&E, some of the stuff on Sky Arts. Starlings is good too. I like the auditions on XFactor.original.gif

I like Strictly - sometimes.  Everybody seems to get on at Craig for his comments but I think he is about the most honest judge of the four.  I also wildlife documentaries.

Maybe we could start a revolution.  If everybody only watched programmes they really wanted to watch instead of out of habit or because there is nothing else to do then maybe, just maybe the programme makers might actually make good, entertaining, interesting, funny programmes.

In our case that'd be Mrs Browns boys, The News, some live sport, the proms and countryfile.  Son is watching The white Queen.

OH will watch an endless succession of every channel we have when he's too tired to read.

My choice would be Mrs Brown's Boys; Emmerdale; Corrie; The Chase; Who wants to be a Millionaire.

The things is though, everybody has such differing taste.  I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than watch BB but others would hate to miss a single episode.  I watch just about all the quiz shows but hate wildlife programmes, hubby is just the opposite.  We both hate sport, so I suppose there's always someone somewhere who likes what's on at any given time.

The programmes are always dire at this time of year, it's the repeat season.

I thought that it was the repeat season all year round.  Must admit that I don't like soaps.  I like sports like cricket and golf.  I also like wildlife documentaries and antiques programmes.  Some quiz programmes such as Pointless are alright as well.

I get so annoyed with what i pay and all they seem to do is put repeats on a lot of channels. The main BBC and Channel 4 sort of channels have some new Documentary things on which i like to watch but everything else is bad. Saturdays are terrible, i hardly have to ring round anything to watch with my trusty telly watching pen on that night. Sunday can be slightly better. I do not like soaps just anything medical, animal, true life, some reality shows like Im a Celebrity or Celebrity Big Brother. I do like my television for these things and some music videos but then you have to pay for those, well i do at the moment. Woman Happy
