With the weather forecast not being too good, I hope that everyone stays safe over the next few days.

i think people have been misled as to when the storm arrives

its preceded  by wind and rain  its  just the worst of it  which will be classed as  stormforce winds  will be arriving later sunday /  monday

the forecasters  aren't/weren't sure how  high it would get and  whether the stronger wind s would be closer to  france or uk

We had lashing rain last night too but it's dry & sunny now. Still very windy & the sea is all white horses. The worst is due overnight I believe.

Hmmm trust you to speak too soon CB, I already have a soggy kitchen and it looks set to get worse if we get the weather predicted for later today and tonight.

I'm on the South Wales coast and it's already quite windy here, not looking forwards to tonight when it's forecast to be 60-80mph gusts!

It is now 11.15 in the East Midlands and sitting here in the lounge it has gone amazingly overcast and I can see the neighbour's tree waving in the wind. The cat has now come back inside.

Last night the people who lived at the back of me were having fireworks then all of a sudden we had a torrential downpour...........oh dear.....the fireworks had to stop..........soooooooooooooooooo sorry (not).

It was windy and raining in Maidstone last night then calmer this morning. Now its quite sunny with some clouds coming over now and then but the WIND IS REALLY PICKING UP NOW AS I SIT HERE. It blew my wooden cask flower pot with my Rosemary over on my balcony and thats quite heavy!!!!. From what i heard it will be bad again here tonight and tomorrow morning???. We shall see although they have got the weather wrong a lot lately!!!!.

Absolutely right, please don't anyone get complacent about this.

The wind has picked up in the last hour here in Cornwall and there are some very heavy showers.  I just had to pop out to get some milk and the wind was quite strong even in the valley.   There are some very strong gusts already at the top of  the hill where I live and the trees are bending.  I just made sure all the pots are in the greenhouse and everything is secured. 

If you have to go out. go now, if you don't have to put your feet up and stay dry and safe, it's certainly on it's way.

Hi,  Chips I am just up the way from you North Devon we are 8 miles from the coast on the side of a hill and it is raining very hard and very windy, I sincerely hope this is it but somehow I don't think so. I have moved and tied down everything I can but its up to the weather now.  Everyone keep warm dry and safe don't go out if you don't have to, I shall pick up son at 4 and then we shall be staying indoors.

It was wet and windy here last night, didn't stop whoever it was letting fireworks off. The dogs were terrified.

When is Bonfire night oh yes ITS A WEEK AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   we had them going off in the rain as well.

It's quite breezy here at the moment but it's sunny as well.  We did have some heavy rain this morning.

One of our neighbours across the road have a massive tree in their back garden.  We've said many a time that if the wind gets too strong the tree will be down.  Hope that I'm proved wrong.

That sure looks rough there Maggie.  We are lucky here in that we don't have it that bad.  We did have a heavy shower about half an hour ago and it's still windy.

Bucketing it down at present, can hear the rain lashing the windows. Sounds like the wind is getting up as well.

The wind seems to have dropped here at the moment and everywhere is dry outside but the forecast is for bad weather overnight and in the morning.

Still nothing here.  They say 5am we'll get it.  Brother in law and his wife are setting off at 3am to get a 6.20 flight in the morning.  I wonder when they'll actually take off?

If the wind is too strong, they may take off CG but not on a plane.
