Despite going on about radiators and heat i do keep it warm in my flat. we used to have a communal drying area on the roof of the flats but we are not permitted to go up there any more. There are washing lines in a communal bit over next to a little car park in my block but i do not use them being too afraid washing will get stolen ect. Anyway i hang washing in front of radiators and few bits on radiators, or on a clothes horse i have standing in front of my radiator in the hallway wich is quite hot when its on!!.
What i want to know is???, is it unhealthy for me to do this,, you know the damp from the clothes ect. They get dry quite quick but the clothes horse in hallway is right outside my bedroom and i was just a bit concerned thats all?. Any advice campers??.

Drying clothes on the radiators and clothes horses inside can put condensation in the property, especially if there is good draft exclusion fitted. That can inturn cause mold to form, so if you have resperitory prolems such as asthma it can be bad for you.
If you are suffering with condensation and mold (mold is airbourne) then a dehumifier can help a lot.
You could confine drying washing to the bathroom and keep a windo open with the door shut.

No i do not seem to get condensation only a little at times but hardly ever really. And i have my room window in my bedroom open very very slightly in colder months unless its freezing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Then i do not, but the place is well aired!!!. it dries very quickly the washing too and i only do a big wash one day a week.

i have always dreid my washing this way and as we keep the house well aired we do not have any problems.

I very rarely use my clothes line, just can't be bothered, so always dry indoors. I used to put it directly on the radiators but don't have any in this house. I dry on the Aga if I want them straightaway, or overnight on the horse in the utility. I never (and never have had) condensation. I don't know why, we have very good double glazing and sealed doors, but we have a couple of chimneys, perhaps that's why. Apart from causing condensation and in turn, mold, I don't think there's any reason to think it would do you any harm.

Sounds to me as you are doing OK then Rose. If you are not getting condensation and mold then I reckon it can't do any harm. As you say your place must be aired sufficiently.
I have to admit I am very lazy and very fortunate that I can and do use a good tumble drier all the time.

CG. it's the chimneys that keep the condensation away. We never had one bit when we lived in our old house that had chimneys.
this house is full of condensation! it's been insulated in the walls and no water can escape. I have a tumble drier which I have to use. I only use it once a week as it's so expensive to use. Does anyone know how much it costs to run one?

According to google capt, a tumble drier costs about 50p an hour. I use mine for everything except sheets and duvet covers, jeans, towels and large cotton things. All smalls, socks, pants, bras, man made fabrics, jumpers etc. go in the dryer, then everything I dry on the aga (or even the washing line when I can be bothered in summer) go in the tumbler for a while. It kills any bugs if they've dried outside, and it prevens them being ironed. I tell myself what I spend on the tumbler I save on the iron!! LOL
