My Daughter had a vaginal hysterectomy at 23yrs of age and then last year had to have another op and an ovary removed through her tummy (bless her heart) and she said this last one took ages to get over in comparison. If it was me I would be begging for it to be done vaginally the recovery was so much easier for my daughter.
I hope it all goes well for you.

Had vaginal done at 48...........they leave the ovaries so no sudden hormonal swings.
Actually mine was done by my NEXT DOOR neighbour !!
Said at the time it would make good headlines in the local press if it went wrong
""Woman Dies After OP by Next Door Neighbour ""
someone I told said Well , I hope she was a nurse !!.......to which I replied
No , but he is a gynecologist .....well he would be if I could spell it !
Best thing I ever had done. Used to have to stay at home 4/5 days a month, plus spent a fortune on STs /Tampons . Couldn`t use a public loo ..........too much mess as floor and walls , handbasin, & loo needed washing .

The BEST advice ............do your pelvic floor exercises so you don`t finish up incontinent
Don`t drive before you are told to for the above reason !!
Get your hobby ready (I started rubber stamping ), indulge yourself, get well again,
oh and don`t let yourself become constipated......buy some micro enemas from the chemist just in case .
