...and no-one saying "LA Woman" because it's "by The Doors" please!
Me? "Hamburger Concerto" by Focus. Because it's anthemic and transcendant.
(Yes I know you can download them all if you lose them, but let's pretend you cant)

Can I grab a boxed set? If so it would be the Screamin and Hollerin the Blues boxed set of Charlie Patton recordings As well as being an incredible collection, the presentationand packaging is a work of art, and I doubt I could ever be able to justify buying it again ( The last one to sell on here went for £120 and the cheapest S/H on Amazon is £255)

There are CD's in the cupboard but I open it about 4 times a year.. once to get the xmas cd out. once to put it back and then in the summer if we have a bbq.. I open it to get the Jackie album out and again to return it...
certainly wouldn't be stopping to grab either if there was a fire.. I'd be too busy rescuing the orchids...

I do have a one off CD I would save.
Few years back we were going to a Dylan concert and eating before in the Rotunda. Tables for 2 very close together. I could not help but overhear the young man beside me. Turned out he had worked for the McCartneys just after the Beatles split and they were living on their farm nr. Campbeltown. Long story short - he promised me a 'for your ears only' Macca CD.
Thought nothing of it - until one day this package arrived with about a dozen DCs inside. He obviously works in the music industry - lots of good stuff, Emmy Lou, Mark Knopfler and yes Paul McCartney, practising his Beatle hits, She's a Woman (my forever favourite, such a simple song too), I've Just Seen a Face, all unplugged, loads more, about 75 mins. He is talking throughout to the other band members and even impersonates Elvis (very well too). I love it and play it often. Oh, and he still had a voice then too.
There was a note inside, but no address anywhere, I only know he was Ben. So thanks Ben. Every time my Wee Dad visits, he asks - gonna play me that CD? Hubby has a great B & O sound system - so we both listen to it LOUD. A wee piece of magic.

You know Gina, and this will sound nuts given my health situation, I've met fabulous people all my life. Been in the wings at a Dylan Concert, met the crew when I was eating alone. Went to see Kris Kristofferson, and again, met some guys, front row seat for me and then this CD. I totally love it. My Pauly that I'd been listening to since I was a wee girl. Fabby.
