The bleeding hearts plant we have in our garden seems to come out every year. Hope it comes out again this year. Probably won't now that I've said that.

Hi, I have been busy cleaning the patio with a pressure washer so the new greenhouse my lovely wife bought forr me can be put up.
The patio was filthy, didnt realise how dirty it was until started to clean it.
After washing, I need to wait until the excess water has drained into the soakaway in the corner, but the ground is so wet with all the rain we have had and are still having, it is taking ages for the water to soak away, still each day it gets a bit more clearer!!
Soon I will be able to put the greenhouse up,
all ready to start sowing flowers and veggies again this year!!
Our garden is easterly facing, and we can have the greenhouse on either the right (south) side, where it will be lightly shaded and may be better for young seedlings and plants
or on the left (north) side of the garden, where the greenhouse will be in full sun for longer during the day.
I am tempted to site the greenhouse on the right (south) side, as the sun can be very strong and there will be a little shelter for the young plants.
Will post photos as we get there!
Happy Gardening

The allotment in winter
I gave mine up last year as i couldn't cope with it, but i am helping my friend with hers.
We have lovely rich soil, but it is very stony, blame the ice age

you need to protect bleeding heart from frost, and they don't like wind.
if they haven't peeped out of the ground by the middle of April, then you've lost them:-(
Dicentra I think the posh name is.
I'd love to have a go at growing spuds in a large container, and I've got to re pot on my blueberry maybe I'll get more berries this time.

Mine must be something different then as it's a huge shrub.

I'm happy that 3 of my new lavender plants are all shooting new growth, the 4th one seems to not be doing anything.......not a problem though as that's why I bought the 4 allowing for a couple not to do anything, so it's a bonus that I've got 3 looking promising. They are perched happily on my bedroom windowsill until they're ready to be planted into a nice big pot to go out when the weather is much warmer 😄
I've also got Foxgloves, Poppies and lavender seeds now shooting from seeds that I had sewn a couple of weeks ago, they're on my kitchen windowsill, it's exiting watching things grow 😄

We have a couple of lavender plants in the front garden and one in the back. I've not looked at the one in the back garden yet but the ones in the front garden are doing well. Also, we've got a tulip that will soon be in full flower in the back garden.
